Our People
Mike R. – Lead Technician
Mike has been with Walt’s Insulation for 14 years, longer than any technician on the Glendale crew. He started as an insulation removal helper in 2011 and worked his way up to lead tech by being the guy who reads the manufacturer spec sheet before every spray foam job, not just the first one. He holds certifications in Owens Corning and Demilec installation and is our go-to for closed-cell foam in tight Glendale attic conversions. When he’s not in a Tyvek suit, Mike restores old motorcycles in his garage in La Crescenta. He’s the reason we rarely get callbacks on foam jobs.
Sofia G. – Senior Installer & Air Sealing Specialist
Sofia joined us eight years ago after working in residential construction, and she’s the person we send when an older Glendale home needs air sealing done properly, not just a caulk gun waved at a few gaps. She’s certified in Rockwool and Knauf batt installation and has a reputation on the crew for diagnosing airflow problems from the attic hatch alone. Sofia grew up in Glendale and still lives here, which means she knows exactly how hot these attics get in August. She’ll tell you the truth about what your insulation can and can’t fix, even when it means a smaller job for us.
Dan P. – Service Coordinator
Dan is the voice you’ll most likely hear when you call (747) 246-7237. He’s been answering phones for Walt’s for six years, and he’s the reason we can say a live person answers 24/7 without it being a marketing line. Dan schedules the techs, walks homeowners through what to expect on install day, and handles questions about the $40 off any repair over $200 or the free second opinion we offer on any written estimate. He’s originally from Burbank, never misses a Dodgers game, and has been known to talk a nervous homeowner through a blown-in insulation estimate for 45 minutes without checking the clock once.
Luis C. – Apprentice Technician
Luis is the newest member of the Glendale crew, two years in and already trusted to run blown-in cellulose jobs under Mike’s supervision. He came to us from a trade school program and spent his first six months doing nothing but insulation removal and attic prep, which is how we train everyone, because you learn what a bad install looks like before you’re ever asked to do a good one. Luis handles most of our crawl space encapsulation support work and has become the resident expert on vapor barrier seams. He lives in Glendale with his wife and their very loud beagle, which his coworkers hear about regularly.
